Steam & Ink Tattoo presents

Romantasy

A collection of dragons, storm & candlelight

Scales like smoldering obsidian. Wings against a bruised-violet sky. A golden hatchling’s first flame.
Six custom pieces in full-color realism and black & grey, for the ones who never stopped believing in dragons.

Each design is an original, tattooed only once, then retired.
Your artist works slowly and adds extra detail.

The Collection

Pieces start at $500.00 · Up to 9" x 9"; the large feature piece Bonded in Violets starts at $800.00 for 8–9", up to $2,000.00 for 14–15"; I Will Not Die Today starts at $1,200.00 for 10–12", up to $2,200.00 for 13–15". Five in full-color realism, one in black & grey.

Bonded in Violets: a black dragon with a spiked mace tail and a small golden feathered dragon nose to nose inside an ornate copper frame, with purple violets

One-of-a-kind original

Bonded in Violets

Starting at $800.00

Full color, shading and realism included

or as low as 4 payments of $200.00 with pay over time

What to expect

Healed result will be softer than this drawing.

This is a large piece: best placed on the upper back, outer thigh, or across the outer arm and shoulder. The bigger sizes (10–12" and 14–15") keep the scales, wing veins, violets and carved frame crisp as the tattoo ages; at 8–9" it works best on a flat area like the upper back or thigh, with a little less fine detail so it stays readable as it heals. The copper frame and soft gold dragon will heal more muted and matte than they look on screen, the pale cream highlights won't stay as bright in skin, and the violets' purple fades fastest in sun. Expect bolder outlines and a simplified frame scrollwork when it is traced. Booking time: 8–9" is about 8 hours (can be split into 2 sessions); 10–12" and 14–15" take 2–3 sessions of about 7 hours each. Plus a touch-up; keep it out of the sun.

I Will Not Die Today: a warrior woman in dark armor walks out of a burning castle city with a black dragon behind her, above the script I will not die today

One-of-a-kind original

I Will Not Die Today

Starting at $1,200.00

Full color, shading and realism included

or as low as 4 payments of $300.00 with pay over time

What to expect

Healed result will be softer than this drawing.

This is a large piece: best placed on the outer thigh, upper back, or the outer upper arm and shoulder, where the warrior, the dragon and the burning castle have room to breathe. At 13–15" the armor, dragon scales, flames and the script "I will not die today" stay crisp as the tattoo ages; at 10–12" expect a little less fine detail in the background city so it stays readable as it heals. The bright orange glow and embers will heal more muted than they look on screen, the darkest shadows will settle into soft black, and warm tones fade fastest in sun. Expect bolder outlines and simplified fire and ruins when it is traced. Booking time: 10–12" is 2 or 4 days of 7-hour sessions; 13–15" needs 3 or 4 days. Plus a touch-up; keep it out of the sun.

Black Dragon: a black dragon with oxblood-red wings perched on an ember-veined rock

One-of-a-kind original

Black Dragon

Starting at $500.00Up to 9" x 9"

Full color, shading and realism included

or as low as 4 payments of $125.00 with pay over time

What to expect

Healed result will be softer than this drawing.

Best placed on the outer thigh, upper back/shoulder blade, or outer upper arm. The small scale plates and claw tips will soften and the faint plum tones will read as near-black, but the charcoal silhouette and oxblood wings stay bold. Plan on 2–3 sessions plus one touch-up, and keep it out of the sun because reds fade fastest.

Golden Hatchling: a golden dragon coiled around a downward-pointing sword

One-of-a-kind original

Golden Hatchling

Starting at $500.00Up to 9" x 9"

Full color, shading and realism included

or as low as 4 payments of $125.00 with pay over time

What to expect

Healed result will be softer than this drawing.

Best placed on the outer forearm, calf, or along the ribs/spine, where the tall, narrow shape fits naturally. The antique-brass and mustard tones are lighter inks, so they heal softer and can look patchy until a touch-up, while the charcoal shading carries the scale detail. Plan on about 2 sessions plus a touch-up, and use sunscreen because yellows and ochres fade quickly.

Golden Feathertail: a golden-scaled horned dragon crouching with wings raised, its long tail ending in a golden feather plume

One-of-a-kind original

Golden Feathertail

Starting at $500.00Up to 9" x 9"

Full color, shading and realism included

or as low as 4 payments of $125.00 with pay over time

What to expect

Healed result will be softer than this drawing.

Best placed on the outer thigh, upper back/shoulder blade, or the outer upper arm wrapping to the shoulder, up to 9" × 9"; this is a one-of-a-kind original, so the artist works slowly and adds extra detail, and she has paws, not claws, so the claw tips get rounded into paws when it's drawn up. The fine feather-plume detail and the soft gold blends will settle and soften as it heals, while the bold outlines and the darker ochre shading carry the shape. Plan on about 2 sessions plus a touch-up, and wear sunscreen because gold and yellow inks fade fastest in sun.

Together: a black dragon with spread wings seen from above, a small pale dragon riding on its back

One-of-a-kind original

Together

Starting at $500.00Up to 9" x 9"

Black & grey

or as low as 4 payments of $125.00 with pay over time

What to expect

Healed result will be softer than this drawing.

Best placed on the upper back, chest, or outer thigh, where the wide wingspan can sit flat and centered. The solid black silhouette and thick wing bones hold strongly for years, while the small pale dragon on his back and the fine neck and spine texture will soften, so the artist will simplify those into bolder shapes when tracing. Plan on 2–3 sessions plus a touch-up; black and grey age well but still need sunscreen to stay crisp.
